Bridgestone/Firestone Off Road Tire (BFOR) , an operating unit of Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire, LLC, formed in February 1994 , to market Bridgestone/Firestone’s off-the-road (OTR) tires used in heavy duty applications for construction, mining, aggregates, and industrial operations. Since the division’s inception , off-the-road tire sales revenue has tripled and BFOR market share has grown to nearly 40 percent of the domestic replacement and original equipment markets. The tires sold in this market segment are manufactured in Normal/Bloomington, Ill., Des Moines, Iowa and in the Bridgestone facilities in Shimonoseki and Hofu, Japan. Today, BFOR is a primary supplier to all major original equipment manufacturers as well as most major global mining and construction companies. BFOR offers the industry’s most comprehensive selection of radial and bias off road (OTR) products; a dedicated sales and engineering staff; sales and distribution through 800 dealers as well as the company’s commercial outlets; and the proprietary software, TreadStat Tire and Rim Management System.
